Focus Installation
Medium 4-channel video with sound, acrylic, projectors, oscillating fan, & fishing line
For my undergraduate thesis in Studio Arts at Bard College, I created an installation that visualized memory disruption. Using Ophelia‘s death as a beginning, I imagined relations of power through the filtering of image and screen. Suspended layers of surface, animation, and refraction create sites of leakage. Distortions skew dominant narratives and foster transmutations—pressing, absorbing, and distilling.
